Vestavia Hills Elementary West
What: I had the opportunity to read How Mae Got Moxie to kindergarten through second-grade students at Vestavia Hills West Elementary. Together we explored Mae's journey of discovering the courage to be herself and talked about how kindness, empathy, and celebrating what makes each of us unique can create a stronger community.

Why:Ā The elementary years are a powerful time to shape the way children see themselves and others. By introducing these students to Mae's story, my hope was to encourage them to lead with kindness, find the courage to embrace who they are, and recognize that even the smallest act of compassion has the power to brighten someone's day and inspire others to do the same.
